Dropbox launches Windows 8 App

Dropbox have given the users of Windows 8 and Windows RT a free gift of special app this new year, which can be used to share your photos and files with others.

No doubt Windows 8 is one of the most innovative developments of 2012. With initial doubts and hesitation, users are now very much familiar with their new Android phones with Windows 8 operating system. The only thing that troubled its users was the limitation of available applications. But now this issue is also dealt with by ‘Dropbox’.

Dropbox released its most anticipated app for Windows 8 and Windows RT on Monday.  This has brought one of the most famous cloud storage services to Microsoft’s latest platform. Dropbox is a leading computer services company that is well known for cloud computing. It has crossed about hundred million users recently. For those who are unfamiliar with the term 'cloud computing', it is the use of computing devices and resources, both software and hardware, which are delivered as a network service.

If you have already got used to of Metro user interface provided by Windows 8 OS then you can go a step ahead by downloading this new app feature to your device for free. Dropbox is available for free in all the Windows stores, to do that you just need to visit online windows store. Creating a new dropbox account is very easy.

Dropbox for Windows 8 includes support for ‘Charms’ on welcome screen of your smart device. It allows you to share your photos, images and file/folder with others. Further you can open, edit and save files using this app through Windows 8 and Windows RT platform. Though, you cannot upload new photos and files through this app, but you can share your existing files with others via email services and through social networking sites using Windows 8 ‘Share Charm’.
