Yesterday, the whole world rejoiced and celebrated the
twentieth birthday of SMS. Every youth
with a phone in his hands keeps in touch with his friends and family using phone
messenger apps. Using messaging services installed in his phone is much easier
and you need not login to your mailing account to send a message using these
phone apps. In fact, you do not even need an email id for that matter. Understanding
the importance of this criterion, Facebook came up with the idea of developing
a messenger app for Android phones.
The new messaging app from Facebook for Android phones enables
its users to use this online service without requiring to have a Facebook account
or even an email account. By doing so, Mark Zuckerberg is planning add more
than a billion users in its already existing one billion+ active users. This is
a smart business move which will rope in the many people across the globe who
are till now bypassing the personal computer entirely and accessing the online
world directly through their mobile phones.
According to Sam Lessin, director of product for Facebook, this new Messenger app for Android phones will be initially released in India, Australia, South Africa, Indonesia and Venezuela and then will be soon followed by the other countries across the globe. These are the regions where the company is visualizing a big scope for their product. Their main target is youth of these nations who are first-time online users and do not have a Facebook account or an email id.

not been officially announced yet.
Last year the company has launched ‘Facebook for Every
Phone’, where in every ordinary phone could behave as a smartphone by installing
their apps. This has led to a step rise in the membership of the Facebook. The
company is not out to catch more of mobile users with its new Messaging app. Everyone is going mobile now days and thus Facebook
decided to adapt to the new changes in the communication world. For this
reason, Facebook bought Instagram and Facebook also going to acquire ‘Whatsapp’.
Keeping all rumours aside, Whatsapp have recently announced a tie-up with RCom,
India. This offered an unlimited Whatsapp usage for just RS 16 per month.
Whatsapp uses a phone number for verification and do not require an email
account or a Facebook account for its operation, thus enabling anyone and everyone

all most all the mobile operating systems. The popularity and wide user range
prompted Facebook to develop a similar messaging service.
Now, it would be really interesting to see what all new
features would be adopted by Facebook in its Messaging app to compete with
Whatsapp which is already a hot favourite of millions of users.
